Choose a co-worker

Use a simple checklist to choose a co-worker you can supervise confidently.

Choose a co-worker

Choose a co-worker for a specific outcome, not just a broad topic. The best first co-worker has a clear mission, inputs you can provide, and a result you can recognize.

Before you hire

Ask these questions on the co-worker detail page:

  1. What responsibility will this co-worker own?
  2. What information, connections, or review will it need from me?
  3. What will it return for me to inspect?
  4. Does it need special hardware or a GPU?
  5. Does it need approval before consequential actions?

Start small

Begin with one co-worker and a short Test now run. Review its activity and outputs before adding a schedule. A short test is the best way to learn whether the mission and configuration fit your workflow.

When a co-worker needs a GPU

OtterDesk shows its GPU requirement before you hire it. If the requirement cannot be met, add a suitable computer to your cluster or select a different role. Do not assume a co-worker will run well without its stated hardware.

Read Resources and capacity and Connect another PC for your options.
